Three Peaks Challenge - 25th June 2013

At 3.50pm on Tuesday 25th June a team of eight walkers set off to climb Ben Nevis - the first of the three peaks which make up the Three Peaks Challenge. The challenge involved 20 miles of walking, 10,000 feet of climbing and 464 miles of driving tacking the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales. All of this was to be completed in less than 24 hours.

With the help of a brilliant 2-person support team the team completed the challenge in times ranging from 21hrs52mins to 22hrs14mins. Quite amazingly, not one drop of rain fell and there were no hold-ups on the roads. Despite the fact that there was no rain, there were also no views from any of the summits with the final 100mtrs or so of each mountain shrouded in mist.

Nonetheless it was an excellent event and we thank God for his goodness in keeping us safe.
